Pokémon Pokopia ‘Bubbly Basin’ DLC Preview Reveals New Update Details
Pokémon Pokopia's first paid Expansion Pass, "Bubbly Basin," launches on Nintendo Switch 2 on 5th August 2026 alongside a free Version 2.0.0 update, with Japanese outlet Famitsu previewing what players can expect. The DLC introduces a largely underwater world as "Part 1" of a planned three-part expansion, expanding the game's Pokédex and adding new mechanics for exploring beneath the surface.
New Pokémon joining the Pokédex include Wiglett and Mareanie, alongside sightings of Golisopod, Stunfisk and Sharpedo. Underwater gameplay gets new tools, including a free Dive ability, Surf upgrades for speed and block-breaking, and abilities like Rollout and Leafage usable underwater. The free update adds a craftable shared storage unit with up to 140 slots, frameless glass placement, and an item that generates electricity underwater. The Expansion Pass costs £29.99/$34.99, with Part 2 due "late 2026" and Part 3 in 2027.
