Pokémon Pokopia ‘Bubbly Basin’ Expansion Pass DLC Locks In Switch 2 Release Date

Nintendo Life · 13 hours ago

The Pokémon Company has confirmed that "Bubbly Basin", the first part of the paid Expansion Pass for Pokémon Pokopia on Switch 2, will launch on 5th August 2026. The date was revealed via a Japanese television commercial rather than an official announcement, giving players an underwater-themed content drop just weeks after the expansion pass was first revealed.

Bubbly Basin lets players use Dive, a new underwater exploration move added via a free update, to access an aquatic town featuring new furniture, additional outfits for Ditto, and more Pokémon. Reaching it requires first learning Dive and completing the "Raise the environment level!" request in Bleak Beach. The full Expansion Pass, available now for $34.99, comprises three parts, with Part 2 due "late 2026" and Part 3 following in 2027; a separate free update in August will also introduce the Dive mechanic for building and exploring underwater towns.
