Pokémon Pokopia leak reveals underwater DLC’s release date
A trailer leak has revealed that Pokémon Pokopia will receive its first major downloadable content, called Bubbly Basin, on 5 August 2026. The underwater-themed update offers an early glimpse of what to expect from the upcoming mainline title Pokémon Winds and Waves, which has yet to receive its own release date, making the DLC significant for fans awaiting more details on that game.
Bubbly Basin will introduce underwater exploration, aquatic-themed furniture and outfits, and new water-type Pokémon, alongside previously leaked cosmetic items such as ties, wings and hats; shiny variants have not been confirmed. The core "move Dive" feature will be free, but full access to the new area requires the $34.99 expansion pass, which also includes two further updates due in late 2026 and 2027, the latter adding a new town and characters. Pokopia had sold over four million copies as of March 2026, ranking it among the Switch 2's top five best-sellers.
