Pokémon Pokopia’s first DLC hits next week, looks like a wet and wild fun time
Pokémon Pokopia's first paid downloadable content, called Bubbly Basin, launches next week for the Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive, introducing an underwater theme to the life-sim game. The expansion adds a new area, additional Pokémon, new abilities and further town-building opportunities, marking the first of three planned content drops in the game's Expansion Pass and giving existing players fresh reasons to return.
Bubbly Basin arrives on 5 August and focuses heavily on Water-type Pokémon, including Totodile and Popplio, who greet players in a town that has sunk beneath the waves. Access to the new areas requires the Dive ability, granted through a free update tied to Manaphy, and players will once again build up a settlement from scratch to support the new Pokémon. A second DLC drop, adding cosmetic accessories, is due by the end of 2026, with a third instalment planned for 2027 ahead of the anticipated Pokémon Wind and Waves.
