Poland begins two days of mourning over Krakow shooting
Poland has begun two days of national mourning after a shooting in Krakow’s main square killed six people and wounded 15. The attack took place on Saturday in a busy tourist area of the country’s second-largest city, and has prompted tributes as investigators continue their work.
Police said three people found dead at the 24-year-old suspect’s home were his parents and sister. The suspect, who was wounded by police and remains in critical condition, is believed by authorities to have held far-right and ultranationalist views, but no motive has been established; Prime Minister Donald Tusk called the attack terrorism. Those killed included a British national, while people from several countries were among the wounded.
