A 39-year-old man was seriously injured after being struck by a tram on West Street in Sheffield city centre. Police cordoned off the area and appealed for witnesses, while the collision disrupted tram services and affected nearby businesses.

The incident happened at about 10.20pm on 22 May near Fitzwilliam Street and Convent Walk. Police said the man had reportedly been involved in an argument with two other men shortly beforehand; he suffered serious head injuries and was taken to hospital, while the tram operator assisted the investigation.
