Dyfed-Powys Police, which serves central and west Wales, confirmed on 14 September that it suffered a cyber attack affecting non-emergency systems. The police force, which employs approximately 1,300 officers across 40 stations in Carmarthanshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire and Powys, has notified the Information Commissioner's Office of the breach. Online and email services were temporarily unavailable but have since been restored. The investigation, managed by Tarian (the regional organised crime unit covering southern Wales), is ongoing with support from cyber-security specialists as precautionary measures continue.
