Kent Police have released a computer-generated image of a woman seen visiting the grave of "Baby April", a newborn found dead near Singleton Lake in Ashford in April 1995, as part of a renewed effort to solve her decades-old case. Detectives believe the infant was smothered and her body left in a plastic bag, but despite an extensive investigation, including a 2011 exhumation to obtain a fuller DNA profile, her parents and true identity have never been established.

The woman, described as white, in her 40s, no taller than 5ft 7in, with a pale complexion and grey shoulder-length hair, was seen visiting the grave between 2pm and 3pm on 21 June 2026 and appeared distressed. She was wearing a grey cardigan, black leggings and trainers, and was carrying a small shoulder bag along with a full-looking floral holdall. Police say she may hold information that could help establish the truth behind the case and are appealing for the public's help in identifying her, urging anyone with information to contact Kent Police on 01622 652006 or via their website.
