Politician calls for Marilyn Manson’s removal from Slipknot show over sexual misconduct allegations

Louder ·

Councillor Anton Georgiou has called on Wembley Stadium to reconsider Marilyn Manson’s place on the bill for Slipknot’s London concert, citing serious sexual misconduct allegations against the singer. Manson denies wrongdoing, and Georgiou says the venue should explain how it considered the allegations before confirming the booking.

The concert is scheduled for 3 July 2027 at Wembley Stadium, in Brent, where Georgiou leads the Liberal Democrat Group on the council. Lorna Shore and Hatebreed are also due to perform. Georgiou criticised the council for not speaking publicly and said the booking could affect the message sent to survivors of abuse.

  • Manson denies sexual misconduct allegations.

Both sides, in good faith

The strongest fair case each way — we don't pick a winner.

The case for

Georgiou’s call reflects the view that a major venue should consider the seriousness of the misconduct allegations when deciding whom to host, even while they remain contested. Reviewing the booking and explaining the decision could show concern for survivors and help the venue account for the message its choices send.

The case against

Manson denies wrongdoing, and allegations alone do not establish that he is responsible; removing him from a concert could impose a serious professional penalty without a finding of liability. A venue may reasonably keep the booking unless reliable evidence or a clear policy justifies changing it, while explaining how it reached that decision.
