Poppy Playtime studio reveals its next survival horror game, and this time it’s co-op
Mob Entertainment, the studio behind Poppy Playtime, has announced Escape from Playtime, a co-operative survival-horror game set in the same toy factory. It marks a shift from the series’ episodic single-player format, allowing players to experience its horror setting together when it enters Steam Early Access.
One to four players will control the Smiling Critters, scavenging materials for a project said to offer a route out of the factory while following an unidentified voice. The game will include puzzles, tools, hiding places, alternative routes and proximity voice chat, while procedurally generated layouts are intended to make each run different. No release date has been announced beyond “coming soon”.
