Porter Robinson & Ninajirachi on Their Debut Collab: ‘I’m Getting Messages From People I Didn’t Even Think Would Like It’
Porter Robinson and Ninajirachi have released their first collaboration, “WannaCry”, after Robinson overcame both artists’ usual reluctance to initiate studio partnerships. They say the song’s early reception has been unusually immediate and wide-ranging, with Ninajirachi describing it as the most widely shared music she has released and Robinson hoping it could reach listeners who do not know either artist.
The single was released on 28 July through I Love Cats and NLV Records, following a writing session at Robinson’s Chapel Hill studio in February. Their connection developed through Ninajirachi’s long-standing admiration for Robinson’s music and live shows, and was strengthened when she supported his 2025 Australian tour; both see the track as reflecting their shared taste for energetic, synth-led electronic pop with emotional and conceptual depth.
