POSSESSED frontman Jeff Becerra has given fans an update on the long-awaited follow-up to the death metal band's 2019 album "Revelations Of Oblivion", saying he hopes recording will begin in September 2026. In a video message posted on social media, he explained he is currently fine-tuning songs and making vocal adjustments before heading into the studio, thanking fans for their patience during the album's protracted gestation.

Becerra detailed the band's remote recording process, with bassist Robert Cardenas, guitarists Daniel Gonzalez and Claudeous Creamer, and drummer Chris Aguirre laying down tracks over a click track before the group convenes in larger studios for drums, then guitar, bass and vocals. He acknowledged it has been almost seven years since the last record, but said he would rather delay than release substandard material, describing the new songs as heavier and markedly different from POSSESSED's previous output, with earlier comments suggesting it could be one of the band's darkest albums yet.
