‘POV Shorts’ Moves From PBS to Time Studios’ YouTube Channel (EXCLUSIVE)

Variety ·

“POV Shorts” is moving its ninth season from PBS to Time Studios’ YouTube channel, giving the documentary series a new route to audiences. The change matters because, after two films receive PBS broadcasts, the rest of the season will be available exclusively through Time Studios.

The season launches on 17 November with Crystal Kayiza’s “Bloodlines, Mississippi” and Arielle Knight’s “The Boys and the Bees”; both will also air on PBS. Eight further films are listed for the season, and six films in total have qualified for Oscar consideration in the documentary short category. The series has won three IDA Documentary Awards for Best Short Form Series and has received several Academy Award nominations since launching in 2018.
