Push Square previewed Silent Hill: Townfall, a PlayStation 5 exclusive from Glasgow-based developer Screen Burn, after playing roughly 90 minutes of the game at Gamescom. The preview highlights the game's setting as its standout feature: a fictional Scottish seaside town called St. Amelia, set in the mid-1990s, which the reviewer, a Scot himself, found strikingly authentic in its cultural detail and atmosphere. This distinguishes Townfall from previous Silent Hill entries and positions it as one of the most anticipated horror releases of 2026.

The demo followed protagonist Simon washing ashore in the deserted, foggy town, gradually exploring in first-person perspective while piecing together clues via a physical map with no on-screen markers. St. Amelia is reportedly based on the real village of St. Monan in East Fife, and the game includes granular period-accurate details such as charity collection boxes, BT phone boxes and prepaid "leccy" electricity cards. The reviewer praised the visuals and cinematic black-bar presentation, noting the game ran well in Performance mode on a base PS5, while Quality mode's ray-tracing dropped the frame rate to 30fps.
