PRIMAL FEAR’s New Album, ‘Shadowriders’, Gets Official Release Date; ‘Vengeance Now’ Single To Arrive Before Christmas
German power metal band Primal Fear will release its new album, ‘Shadowriders’, on 23 April 2027 through Reigning Phoenix Music. Its first single and accompanying video, ‘Vengeance Now’, are due before Christmas, signalling the group’s next release following 2025’s ‘Domination’.
Bassist and producer Mat Sinner said ‘Domination’ had sold more copies overall than its predecessor, despite wider concerns about declining physical music sales. He said the band prioritises listeners who spend time with albums on proper audio systems rather than streaming on phones; Primal Fear’s current line-up includes founders Sinner and vocalist Ralf Scheepers, alongside Magnus Karlsson, Thalìa Bellazecca and André Hilgers.

Primal Fear are a German heavy metal band, formed in 1997 by vocalist Ralf Scheepers and bassist Mat Sinner. Their music is often described as power metal, a style of heavy metal known for strong vocals, fast playing and dramatic themes.
Sinner also produces the band’s music. Primal Fear’s current line-up includes Scheepers and Sinner, guitarist Magnus Karlsson, guitarist Thalìa Bellazecca and drummer André Hilgers. The group’s albums and touring have made it an established name in European metal.
The band has spoken about how listeners choose between streaming and buying albums, as sales of physical music have declined across the industry. That discussion matters to musicians because album sales, streaming and live performances all shape how they reach listeners and earn money.
