Gal Gadot's new action thriller The Runner has become the most-watched film worldwide on Prime Video, despite being savaged by critics and audiences alike. The 84-minute film arrives after a difficult 2025 for Gadot, whose turns in Disney's Snow White and Netflix's In the Hand of Dante both drew significant criticism, and marks a further blow to her attempt to bounce back with a well-received project.

The Runner has scored just 10% on Rotten Tomatoes, with one critic describing it as "devoid of any rising tension" despite comparisons to Die Hard With a Vengeance. Gadot plays Maia Marten, an ordinary woman forced to complete a series of dangerous tasks after being told her son has been abducted, with his life at risk if she breaks the rules set for her. Even with the poor reviews, the film's popularity with Prime Video subscribers has driven it to the top of the platform's global viewing charts, following a similarly troubled run for Gadot that included Snow White's $200 million box office against a $269.4 million budget.
