Prime Video’s ‘Bosch’ Replacement Officially Returns Without Titus Welliver

Collider · 18 hours ago

Amazon's Prime Video crime drama "Ballard" is set to return for a second season, with star Maggie Q marking the show's one-year anniversary by sharing behind-the-scenes footage from Season 1 on Instagram. The clip, showing her filming an action sequence involving police vehicles and a shotgun on a freeway, notably features no sign of Titus Welliver, who plays Harry Bosch and links the spin-off to the wider "Bosch" franchise, even though his return has already been confirmed for the new season.

Welliver has since revealed, in comments to ScreenRant at the Italian Global Series festival, that Bosch will appear in three episodes of Season 2, matching his appearances in Season 1. This keeps the character as a connective thread to "Bosch: Legacy" without overshadowing Maggie Q's lead role as Detective Renée Ballard. Welliver described his role as serving "the brand" and praised working with Q, though he noted the spin-off lacks the intensity of the original "Bosch" series. Season 2 does not yet have a release date, while Season 1 remains available to stream on Prime Video.
