Prime Video's action-comedy series "Ride or Die" will be submitted in comedy categories for the upcoming television awards season, with stars Hannah Waddingham and Octavia Spencer both entered for Lead Actress in a Comedy. The decision follows the show's strong commercial and critical performance since its 15 July 2026 release, and reflects an increasingly common strategy among genre-blending series to compete as comedies rather than dramas.

Created by Tessa Coates, the hourlong series follows an assassin, Judith (Waddingham), whose long-time friend Debbie (Spencer), the wife of an MP, becomes entangled in her latest case. It has topped Prime Video's rankings and holds a 98% score on Rotten Tomatoes, achieving this largely through word of mouth rather than heavy marketing. Co-stars Ed Skrein and Bill Nighy will be submitted for Supporting Actor in a Comedy, while Waddingham's other project, "Ted Lasso," will continue to compete separately in the supporting actress category.
