‘Prison Break’ Is Officially Back From the Dead

Collider · 3 hours ago

Disney Plus Canada has confirmed that the long-awaited reboot of Prison Break, now officially titled Prison Break: Black Creek, has entered production. The announcement ends months of speculation about the project, which has been in development for over a year, and comes as the original series' legacy remains divisive among fans who consider its first season one of television's finest but view later instalments as a decline. The reveal marks the first major confirmation of the show's direction since casting news began trickling out earlier in the year.

The new series is set in the same fictional world as the original Prison Break but will not feature returning characters such as Michael Scofield or Lincoln Burrows. Emily Browning, known for A Series of Unfortunate Events, will lead as Cassidy Collins, alongside Lukas Gage (The White Lotus, Euphoria) as Jackson, with additional cast including Drake Rodger, Chris Coy, Ray McKinnon, Jason Wiles, Jonathan Chase and Michael Rose. No release date has been set beyond "coming soon," with the show due to air on Hulu in the US and Disney Plus internationally.
