Angelica Brophy, a 44-year-old nurse and mother of two, disappeared in July after leaving her daughter at a camp and travelling to Palomar Mountain State Park in Southern California. Private investigator Anthony Campbell believes the belongings left in her car may suggest a goodbye, while continuing to investigate the possibility that she remains somewhere in the park.

Brophy’s family and colleagues say she visited Pechanga Resort Casino and Harrah’s Resort on the day she vanished, and investigators describe her as a frequent, high-tier gambler. Campbell also said she had previously disappeared for about a week roughly a decade ago and was later found gambling in Las Vegas. A piece of jewellery resembling one of hers was found on a park trail, but police have not confirmed that it belonged to her.
