Todd Shastwick and David Nett's ProgCore, LLC has partnered with Los Angeles boutique publisher Gungnir to launch a new fantasy imprint, ProgCore Press, focused on fantasy and roleplaying game content. The deal expands Gungnir's existing superhero, sci-fi and fantasy publishing remit into dark fantasy and sword-and-sorcery territory, while giving ProgCore access to Gungnir's distribution network, including its tie-up with Macmillan Publishers, as the pair also develop a wider slate of TV shows and podcasts.

The first release under the label will be ProgCore Fantasy: Dark Age of Theer, a 300-page resource featuring more than 20 short stories and over 150 pieces of original art, with initial distribution beginning this autumn ahead of a wider retail release in spring 2027. Other planned projects include a cocktail book, a graphic novel, TTRPG adventure modules, an animated series called Passing Shimmer, and a ten-part documentary-style RPG series titled ProgCore Fantasy: City of Sorrow featuring contributors such as Felicia Day and Anjali Bhimani. ProgCore's founders bring extensive entertainment backgrounds, with Stashwick known for roles in Star Trek: Picard and 12 Monkeys, and Nett for indie TV projects and streaming content for outlets including Geek & Sundry.
