Sony has announced that God of War Laufey, a PS5 spin-off starring Kratos’s late wife, will launch on 16 February 2027. The announcement gives PlayStation a major first-party release date for early 2027 and suggests a strong year for the console’s exclusive games.

The date was revealed at a San Diego Comic-Con panel, where creative lead Cory Barlog also confirmed another Kratos-led God of War game is in development. That game will follow Laufey and connect directly to its story, while God of War Laufey will also receive a physical disc release; Naughty Dog’s Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet is also expected in 2027.
