PS5’s Once Upon a Katamari Is Getting Bigger with Paid DLC Based on the Mobile Game
A new Katamari Damacy title, Once Upon a Katamari, launched on PS5 last year and is set to receive paid downloadable content later in 2026. The DLC, called Rolling Live Highlights, draws content from the mobile spin-off Katamari Damacy Rolling Live, bringing stages, music and characters from that version into the console game. Its announcement coincided with news of a Switch 2 port for the main game, suggesting Bandai Namco is looking to broaden the title's reach across platforms.
The expansion is framed around the King of All Cosmos wanting to become a popular streamer, but gameplay remains the familiar Katamari formula of rolling a sticky ball to collect objects and grow larger. It adds ten new quests, six playable cousin characters, and a selection of songs pulled from the mobile game. Pricing has not yet been confirmed, but the DLC is scheduled for release on 8th October 2026.
