PSA: Minecraft Switch 2 Now Available, Switch Physical Owners Get A Digital Discount
Minecraft is now available for Switch 2, with upgrade options for both digital and physical owners of the original Switch version. Physical-copy owners can buy the Switch 2 Ultimate Collection at a discount, while digital owners have a free upgrade path; the distinction matters because the physical offer is paid.
The Ultimate Collection includes the Switch 2 base game and five add-ons, and its discounted price is below both its usual price and the $29.99 standalone game. The physical-owner offer runs until 21 January 2026. The Switch 2 version also includes the Super Mario Mash-Up Pack and supports Vibrant Visuals, with enhanced lighting and shadows.
In short
- Minecraft has launched on Switch 2.
- Physical Switch owners can get a discounted digital collection.
- The offer ends on 21 January 2026.
Explained simply
Minecraft is a video game in which players explore a world made of blocks, gather resources and build structures. It is available on several devices, including Nintendo’s Switch consoles, and players can create worlds alone or with others.
The Switch 2 is Nintendo’s newer console, and some games released for the original Switch can be upgraded for it. Minecraft’s original Switch version came in both digital and physical forms; the options for moving to the newer version differ depending on which one a player owns.
