Paris Saint-Germain finally picked up their first Ligue 1 win of the season on Sunday, beating Brest 1-0 away from home, though the performance did little to ease concerns about their sluggish domestic form. A brilliant early goal from new signing Ferran Torres separated the sides, but PSG were otherwise outplayed for long spells, with manager Luis Enrique calling it their worst display in four league matches this term despite the result.

Torres, who joined from Barcelona over the summer, scored a superb finish after a slick team move just four minutes in, taking his tally to six goals from six shots on target this season. Goalkeeper Matvey Safonov made several key saves to preserve the lead as Brest, who finished with a higher expected-goals total, pushed for an equaliser. The champions remain five points behind Ligue 1 leaders Lille, Monaco and Rennes, with midfielders Vitinha and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia still short of their best form since returning from the break.
