She said the case bore "all the hallmarks" of her son's 2019 death, when US citizen Anne Sacoolas killed Harry in a road collision before invoking diplomatic immunity to leave Britain and avoid justice; Sacoolas later pleaded guilty to causing death by careless driving and received a suspended sentence.

The diplomat, a former US serviceman based at the American Embassy in Nine Elms, was reportedly seized during a dawn raid on his Putney flat on 25 August and taken to a US airbase for removal, despite US personnel having no arrest powers in Britain and no formal extradition request being made. Sources say the images were found during an investigation into the man's brother in America, and that UK authorities were only told after he had already left the country. The Dunn family's spokesman, Radd Seiger, called the episode "profoundly disturbing" and urged the Government to uphold British law and sovereignty, while the Foreign Office and US embassy both declined to comment in detail, and the Metropolitan Police said it continues to liaise with US authorities.
