‘Ramayana’ Trailer: Ranbir Kapoor and Yash Face Off in First Part of Nitesh Tiwari’s Epic
The first trailer for Nitesh Tiwari’s two-part film adaptation of the Hindu epic “Ramayana” has been released ahead of Part 1’s worldwide debut this November. It introduces Ranbir Kapoor as the exiled prince Rama and Yash as the demon king Ravana, whose abduction of Sita sets up the central conflict; the project is significant for its unusually large scale and global ambitions.
The two films have a combined budget of about $500 million and are being made for Imax, with Hindi-language releases also dubbed into other languages. Part 1 is expected to end with Sita’s abduction and will open during Diwali, while Part 2 is scheduled for Diwali 2027; the score is by Hans Zimmer and A.R. Rahman, and DNEG is producing the visual effects.
