Random: Fire Emblem’s New Game Adds Some Serious Firepower

Nintendo Life · 5 hours ago

Nintendo's latest Direct revealed that Anatolia, a character dubbed the "mysterious bride" in the upcoming tactics game Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave, wields a gauntlet weapon resembling an advanced firearm rather than the series' traditional swords and magic. Footage shown just before the seven-minute mark depicts her firing the weapon, reportedly called the "Salamander", at an enemy for a powerful, gun-like critical blow, prompting comparisons online to other tactical RPGs such as Valkyria Chronicles and Advance Wars.

While unusual, gun-like weapons and futuristic technology aren't entirely new to Fire Emblem, having appeared in subtler forms in Three Houses. Nintendo also confirmed that weapons in Fortune's Weave can be upgraded using materials, and the new footage has fuelled fan speculation about how such advanced tech fits into the series' lore.
