Country singer Randy Travis surprised cancer patient Bunnia Greenwood by visiting her in person after learning that meeting him was her lifelong wish. The gesture was especially meaningful because Travis has faced major health challenges since suffering a stroke in 2013, yet chose to travel rather than arrange the video call Greenwood had hoped for.

Greenwood had initially asked only for an autograph and possibly a Zoom conversation during treatment, and her family contacted local news outlets for help. Travis and his wife, Mary Davis, travelled to Zion to meet her; Davis said he wanted to support someone who shared his determination to “choose joy over defeat”, and described his ability to connect with people even without speaking.
