Atlanta rapper Alley Boy, born Curt Freeman, has died at the age of 42 following a long battle with kidney disease. His daughter confirmed his death in an emotional Instagram post on Monday 20 July, and tributes have since come in from figures across hip-hop including Master P, 21 Savage, 2 Chainz, CeeLo Green and Boosie Badazz.

Alley Boy had spoken openly about his health struggles, revealing in 2023 that he had begun dialysis, which he attributed to years of drinking "lean". He was reportedly still awaiting a kidney transplant as of late 2024. He rose to prominence in Atlanta through Duct Tape Entertainment, co-founded by his brother Big Bank Black, later signing to Master P's No Limit Records as part of the Louie V Mob alongside Fat Trel. Over his career he released projects including War Cry, The Gift of Discernment and Blatlanta 3, and collaborated with artists such as Jeezy, Future, Pusha T, Gucci Mane and Meek Mill. He gave his final interview to his brother's show, Perspektives With Bank, in June.
