The "Deliveroo Law" appears aimed at gig-economy and delivery platforms, where concerns have been raised about accounts and jobs being used by people without the right to work in the UK, with bosses found to be knowingly employing illegal migrants facing prison sentences under the proposal. The "Turkish Barbers tip line" targets suspicions that some high street businesses, including barber shops, are being used as fronts for illegal activity or unauthorised employment, and would give the public a direct channel to flag concerns to authorities.
