Reform UK candidate in Sheffield by-election revealed
Reform UK has announced its candidate for the forthcoming Sheffield City Council by-election in Southey ward. The contest matters because it will fill a vacancy created by the resignation of former councillor Gareth Slater and could affect representation in an area where Reform made a strong recent electoral showing.
Polling is scheduled for 27 August, with one council seat available. In May’s local elections, Reform UK’s Yvonne Sykes won the ward with 2,157 votes, or just under 50 per cent, ahead of Labour on 1,059 votes; Reform said it believed it had selected the right candidate for the role.
