Reform’s Robert Jenrick rages at ‘two-tier policing’ as no further action is taken over Nigel Farage ‘guillotine’ T-shirt row

The Metropolitan Police will take no further action against Green Party leader Zack Polanski over his reposting of an image showing a guillotine T-shirt referring to Nigel Farage. Reform UK’s Robert Jenrick criticised the decision as evidence of “two-tier policing”, while the case has intensified debate about political rhetoric and public figures’ safety.

Polanski shared an Instagram post containing around 20 images, including a man wearing a shirt bearing the slogan “We’re only making plans for Nigel” above a guillotine graphic; he later removed it, saying he had not noticed the image. Police concluded that reposting it was not an offence, but recorded a crime concerning the wearing of the T-shirt and referred that aspect to Avon and Somerset Police, as the photograph was taken in Bristol.

  • Police took no action against Polanski for reposting the image.
  • Jenrick called the decision “two-tier policing”.
  • The T-shirt itself was referred to Avon and Somerset Police.
