Reform’s Sarah Pochin reveals all her party’s MPs have 24-hour security after Ann Widdecombe was killed – and says her children have begged her to quit politics

Reform UK MP Sarah Pochin has revealed that all eight of the party's MPs are now under round-the-clock security protection following the murder of former Conservative minister Ann Widdecombe, who was killed at her home in July while serving as Reform's immigration and justice spokeswoman. Pochin, who represents Runcorn and Helsby, said the constant security presence has taken a heavy toll on her family life, with her adult sons pleading with her to leave politics out of fear for her safety.

Speaking to GB News, Pochin described how security guards now accompany her even on holiday and everyday errands, saying she can no longer go clothes or make-up shopping, or even visit Sainsbury's, due to the perceived risk. She also spoke of the sexism she has encountered in Westminster, calling it the most chauvinistic workplace she has experienced, and urged other women, including fellow defector Suella Braverman, to join her in Parliament. The comments came as Reform UK separately announced a record £72 million in donations from crypto billionaires within a 24-hour period.
