Nintendo is capitalising on Star Fox's launch on the Switch 2 by hosting a limited-time crossover event in Tetris 99. The 55th Maximus Cup runs from July 10-13, 2026, inviting players to compete in the puzzle game's online battles and accumulate event points. Those reaching at least 100 points during this window unlock an exclusive in-game theme featuring Star Fox-inspired artwork, music, and custom Tetrimino designs.

To further promote the franchise, Nintendo has also introduced Star Fox-themed cosmetic items for the Switch, including custom icons, backgrounds, and borders available through the Platinum Points digital shop. These collectibles are being released across four sequential waves between late June and mid-July, with individual icons priced at 10 Platinum Points and decorative elements at 5 Platinum Points each. The staggered rollout coincides with the Star Fox game's release and its day-one patch that activated online multiplayer functionality.
