Her comments came after a judge declared a mistrial earlier this month when jurors failed to reach a unanimous verdict on whether Clancy was not guilty by reason of insanity, with one holdout juror blocking the decision despite acknowledging reasonable doubt.

Clancy, 36, admitted strangling her children — Cora, five, Dawson, three, and Callan, eight months — with exercise bands at the family's Duxbury home in January 2023 before attempting suicide; her lawyer argued she was overmedicated and suffering postpartum psychosis. Mace told TMZ the method "could be by firearm, it could be electric chair", while Clancy's attorney has since filed a motion seeking a not-guilty finding and appealed to President Trump for a pardon, despite the case falling under state rather than federal jurisdiction. A further hearing is set for 29 September at Plymouth Superior Court, with Clancy held at a psychiatric facility in the meantime.
