‘Resident Evil,’ ‘Carrie,’ and More Headline a 2026 Fantastic Fest Lineup to Die For
Fantastic Fest, the United States' leading genre film festival, has unveiled its full 2026 lineup ahead of its 21st edition in Austin, Texas, running from 17 to 24 September. The programme features 73 features and episodic projects, headlined by high-profile titles such as Zach Cregger's Resident Evil adaptation and a preview of Mike Flanagan's Carrie series, alongside numerous premieres of independent and international genre films.
The festival will open with the world premiere of creature feature Beware Boiúna and Resident Evil's gala screening, before closing with The Swallow, a survival-horror film starring Grace Van Dien. Of the 73 titles, 35 are World Premieres, 21 are International or North American Premieres, and 14 are U.S. Premieres, with further highlights including Victorian Psycho, Bloody Tennis and Shudder's The Cycle. The event follows last year's milestone 20th-anniversary edition, continuing founder Tim League's Alamo Drafthouse tradition of showcasing boundary-pushing horror and sci-fi cinema.
