‘Resident Evil’ Trailer: Zach Cregger’s Take On Iconic Vidgame Is Coming For You (And Comic-Con)
Sony has released a new trailer for Zach Cregger’s Resident Evil ahead of the director’s Comic-Con Hall H appearance. The film, due in cinemas on 18 September, follows medical courier Bryan as a delivery to Raccoon City General turns into a night-long fight for survival amid monsters, zombies and violent chaos.
Austin Abrams leads the cast alongside Zach Cherry, Kali Reis and Paul Walter Hauser, with Cregger co-writing the screenplay with Shay Hatten. Cregger says the adaptation will be a direct, protagonist-focused horror journey that aims to reflect the games’ spirit; the franchise began in 1996, while its original six-film run, led by Milla Jovovich, grossed more than $1.2 billion worldwide.
