Adult Swim has renewed Rick and Morty spin-off President Curtis for a second series before its first episode airs on 26 July. The early renewal signals the network’s confidence in the comedy, which expands the long-running supporting character President Andre Curtis into a series of his own.
The announcement was made on 24 July at San Diego Comic-Con by creators Dan Harmon and James Siciliano, alongside cast members Keith David, Stephanie Beatriz and Jim Rash. The first series follows Curtis confronting threats such as alien invasions, an ancient witch and French super-soldiers, while also exploring the backstories of his staff; it will air after the Rick and Morty series nine finale and stream on HBO Max the following morning.
