Ridley Scott’s 131-Minute Horror Sequel Is Officially Leaving Streaming
Ridley Scott’s *Hannibal*, the follow-up to *The Silence of the Lambs*, is leaving Peacock in the United States on 1 November. Anthony Hopkins returned as Hannibal Lecter, with Julianne Moore taking over Clarice Starling from Jodie Foster; the sequel’s departure means viewers have a limited time to watch it on the service.
Released after *Gladiator* won Best Picture, the 131-minute film earned more than $350 million worldwide against a reported budget of nearly $90 million, surpassing the original’s box-office total. Despite that commercial success, it received mediocre reviews and has a 39% Rotten Tomatoes score; later entries included *Red Dragon*, *Hannibal Rising* and a television series starring Mads Mikkelsen.
