Riot Fest has published the stage times for its 2026 festival in Chicago, with Morrissey scheduled to finish his Saturday set shortly before Tool headline the main Riot Stage. The scheduling has drawn attention because it effectively places Morrissey as an opener for Tool, despite both being prominent names on the line-up.

The festival will take place at Douglass Park from 18 to 20 September, running daily from 11am to 10pm across five main stages. Headliners and notable performers include Twenty One Pilots, Alanis Morissette, Nas, Pixies, Iggy Pop, Rise Against and Elvis Costello, while 95-year-old William Shatner is due to perform a 40-minute set with his metal band The *uckers. Morrissey’s appearance follows his cancellation of a Las Vegas residency, which he attributed to logistical challenges.
