Ardern was previously active with the International Union of Socialist Youth, addressing over 3,000 delegates at a 2009 festival where she spoke against the "neo-liberal agenda". Since resigning as Prime Minister in January 2023, Ardern has spent time in the United States and United Kingdom before relocating to Australia, where she is reportedly seeking employment opportunities as her family settles permanently.
