Robbie Williams Reveals He Has “A Bit” of Autism: “Get-Out-of-Jail-Free Card”
Robbie Williams has said he recently learned he has “a bit” of autism, alongside ADHD and intrusive thoughts, during a Q&A for his Hopeium clothing brand. He said the discovery helped explain some of his behaviour, while describing creative work as a way to focus his mind and reduce anxious thoughts.
Williams gave an example of intrusive thoughts on a plane, imagining that telekinesis could cause it to crash, and said he tries to direct his attention towards making images and humorous material instead. The former Take That singer had previously described himself as neurodivergent and “on the spectrum”, and earlier this year reportedly surpassed The Beatles’ record for the most UK number-one albums with Britpop.
