Robert De Niro’s R-rated crime thriller *The Whisper Man* has become one of Netflix’s biggest films of 2026, remaining in the global Top 10 for four consecutive weeks. Its sustained popularity highlights the strong audience appetite for dark, star-led thrillers on the streaming platform.

The film opened with 23.2 million views, rose to 33.4 million in its first full week and became Netflix’s most-watched English-language film worldwide. It then added 12.7 million views the following week and another 6.2 million between 14 and 20 September, while following a widowed crime writer whose abducted son’s case connects to a convicted serial killer known as “The Whisper Man”.
