Robert Eggers’ upcoming werewolf film Werwulf has received a new trailer ahead of its scheduled theatrical release on Christmas Day. The film stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Willem Dafoe and Lily-Rose Depp, while Eggers co-wrote and directed it with Sjón; its deliberately vague premise centres on “devotion, damnation and the devil within”.

Focus Features has also launched an alternate reality game linked to the film’s marketing campaign. Across three full moons from September to November, players must find and decipher digital clues that disappear after 24 hours, with those completing all three stages promised an undisclosed prize. The campaign is intended to deepen the film’s mystery while its story remains largely secret.
