ITV political editor Robert Peston has revealed he found it "too difficult" to return to a home he shared with his late wife in Aberystwyth, Wales, and ultimately sold the property. His wife, writer Sian Busby, died of lung cancer in September 2012 aged 51, and Peston said being in the house, where she was "both there but not there," reinforced his grief.

Busby, who had Welsh heritage, had come to see Wales as her "proper home" in her final decade, and the couple spent many years at the Ceredigion property, enjoying walks along the cliffs. Speaking to BBC Radio Wales, Peston also discussed music as an escape, including his son Max's Aberystwyth-formed band and his own group, Centrist Dad, in which he sings alongside Ed Balls on drums.
