Robin Morgan, a former editor-in-chief of Ms. Magazine and co-founder of the Women's Media Center alongside Gloria Steinem and Jane Fonda, has died aged 85, just days after Steinem's own death. Her son Blake Morgan and Women's Media Center president Julie Burton announced her passing, saying she died peacefully in her sleep after living with Parkinson's disease for over a decade; no cause of death was disclosed. Morgan was a pioneering figure in the feminist movement, and her death marks the loss of another key architect of the modern women's rights movement in the same week as Steinem's.

Morgan led Ms. Magazine from 1989 to 1994 and, over the past decade, hosted the podcast Women's Media Center Live with Robin Morgan, which recently reached its 500th episode. She co-founded the Women's Media Center 21 years ago to promote women's visibility in media, and was also known for her Sisterhood is Powerful anthology series and involvement in the 1969 Miss America pageant protest. Tributes from Fonda and Burton described her as an artist, poet and activist whose decades of journalism, writing and organising helped shape the contemporary women's movement; she is survived by her son Blake.
