Netflix has cast Francesca Reale and Roby Attal in key roles for its upcoming series adaptation of Carley Fortune's bestselling novel "This Summer Will Be Different", joining previously announced lead Sophie Nélisse. The casting rounds out the show's central trio, with production moving forward on the romance drama set on Prince Edward Island, adding to Netflix's expanding slate of Canadian-made series.

Reale, known for "Stranger Things" and "Do Revenge", will play Bridget, the best friend of protagonist Lucy (Nélisse), while Attal, who has appeared in "The Haunting of Bly Manor" and "Sex Lives of College Girls", will play Felix "Wolf" Clark, Bridget's brother and Lucy's forbidden love interest. The novel, released in 2024, became a New York Times bestseller, selling more than four million copies and being translated into thirty languages. The series is executive produced by creators Dane Clark and Linsey Stewart alongside Fortune and others, and joins other Netflix Canadian productions including "North of North" and "Wayward".
