US rock band Modest Mouse has dropped guitarist Simon O'Connor from its upcoming tour dates following allegations that he sent inappropriate messages to a minor. The move comes as the band prepares to head out on tour, and it joins a wider pattern of musicians and entertainers facing swift career consequences after misconduct allegations surface publicly.

The band confirmed the decision in a social media post last week, stating simply that O'Connor "will not be joining us on the upcoming tour." O'Connor had been part of Modest Mouse since 2021. Seth Jabour of Les Savy Fav will step in as his replacement on guitar for the tour, with the band adding they "look forward to being out there with you all."
