Rod Stewart Helps Raise $1.7M For Stevie Van Zandt’s TeachRock Education Nonprofit During Southampton Fundraiser
Rod Stewart helped raise $1.7 million for Stevie Van Zandt’s TeachRock charity at a private Southampton fundraiser on 30 July. The money will support the organisation’s work providing free arts education resources to schools, using popular music to engage pupils across a range of subjects.
Around 200 guests attended the concert at philanthropists Bob and Lauren Day Roberts’ home, where Stewart and Van Zandt performed “Having a Party” and “Stay With Me”. TeachRock says it currently reaches more than one million students nationwide; auction prizes included dinners with Stewart, Van Zandt and Sopranos cast members, and a private Andrea Bocelli performance in Tuscany.
